In May of 2025, we signed the Apartheid-Free Communities Pledge.
We are proud to support this initiative to encourage conversation about human rights within our communities. We are deeply driven by our values which include the safety and rights of all people. We understand that there may be questions about our participation and have tried to answer them below. Please reach out to Kelly and Molly with any additional concerns: kelly@longriverproducemarket.com and molly@longriverproducemarket.com.

Molly brought this movement to my attention in May and immediately it seemed like a good way to align our work with our values. We discussed it at staff meeting and decided to move forward with it as a team.
Since we only carry local products, this movement is less of a means to divest and more of an opportunity to share our values with our community. We are in conversation about what our participation looks like ongoing.

Standing for Palestinian lives, land, and liberation is not antisemitic. Across the US, elected officials, government agencies, companies, universities, and other institutions increasingly use accusations of antisemitism against critics of Israel to shut down dissent and conversation. Many Jews support Palestinian liberation, and understand that apartheid in Israel/Palestine makes Jewish people less safe in Israel, the US, and worldwide.

Standing for human rights and against genocide & apartheid is relevant to everyone. We pay taxes as individuals and as a business that fund genocide and apartheid in Palestine/Israel, and it is our responsibility to take a stand against that. We also want to show support for our community members who are affected by the ongoing human rights violations.
